I just used my credit card’s rewards website to buy an Amazon Gift Card with my accumulated points. At checkout it asked for my address. Now they are mailing me an actual physical gift card, for me to then input the numbers on into Amazon.com and turn back into a digital gift card I can actually use. Really? In 2016? Really?

I have my Mastercard linked to my Amazon so I can choose to just pay with points. Pretty handy.

Sounds like you need a better credit card. I know i can use my card’s points directly with amazon at checkout. :D

There is probably some way to link them, I never thought to look. Despite being 37, this is my first credit card and I haven’t had it long so I’m still learning all this stuff.

I think stuff like this is part of the game with gift cards. If they are a pain to use/redeem people will forget about or not want to use them. It saves the company issuing it money.
